Improve exhaust flow, faster turbo response time and power gains

The COBB 3″ Stainless Steel Catted Downpipe for the BMW N55 powered vehicles is a direct replacement which features a high-flow 304 stainless steel construction and cast tail section.

Down Pipe Details:

Free up your BMW’s N55 engine with the COBB 3″ Downpipe! This direct replacement for the factory downpipe features a 200 cell count high flow catalytic converter and 304 stainless steel tubing. The CNC machined v-band flange and the cast merge section ensures perfect OEM-like fitment. To keep our Ferrari project safe after we tune it, we installed a failsafe gauge by AEM. This gauge will read boost and air fuel ratio. If the gauge detects an out of range air fuel ratio reading, it will trigger a low side output ground signal that will save our engine from complete failure.  We didn’t want to drill any holes in the 550′s carbon fiber/leather interior. So we came to the agreement that we would install the gauge in the drivers side vent. We blocked off the vent so hot air would not hit out gauge and over heat it, but dont worry the 550 has plenty of other vents to keep us warm in the winter.
